Currently an associate veterinarian, Dr. Leah Forquer completed an internship at Specifically Equine in 2012 after receiving her degree in Veterinary Medicine from the University of California at Davis. Prior to veterinary school, Dr. Forquer completed a BS degree in Animal Science, and a PhD in Comparative Pathology both at UC Davis. With a long standing interest in sports medicine and rehabilitation, Leah found herself starting her graduate research as the veterinary regenerative medicine field was in its infancy. Ultimately her graduate research focused on the role of stem cells in orthopedic pathology and aided in the beginnings of the UC Davis School of Veterinary Regenerative Medicine Group. To further her education and to better service her clients, Leah began work toward certification in Chiropractic and plans to become certified in veterinary acupuncture in 2014. Dr. Forquer is also currently an FEI permitted treating veterinarian. In Leah’s spare time, she is an avid rider and active on the west coast three-day eventing circuit competing with her two horses Gilly and Roxy.
